Zelensky assessed the chances of ending the war by 2025.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there is a possibility to end the war by 2025. He announced this in an interview with Polish media during his visit to Warsaw. Zelensky confirmed that newly elected US President Donald Trump wishes to end the conflict and may pressure Russia.

'Trump wants to end the war. These are his public and private messages, to be honest. He can pressure Russia as a strong leader. I am sure that Russia fears America and China, and also fears a united Europe.'

Zelensky emphasized that Europe without the Ukrainian army will not be able to confront the Russian army in the event of an invasion, so the European Union should assist Ukraine.

'I am sure that Russia fears the US, China, and a united Europe. Europe without the Ukrainian army cannot cope with the Russian army due to its numerical superiority. Russia has more weapons, more people, and it is more ruthless than Europeans.'

Zelensky also noted that the residents of Europe in times of peaceful democracy do not know what war looks like, unlike life in Russia.

'Europe, unfortunately, today does not have the capacity to confront Russia without the Ukrainian army. This is a matter of the occupation of Europe. It will come quickly and force other countries to act as Putin wishes. Russia fears the US, China, and a united Europe. We must do everything possible to stop this war. We currently have a strong partner - America. The European Union has become stronger...'

Zelensky urged the European Union to be 'three times more pragmatic' and to increase the production of arms - both for Ukraine and for itself, to anticipate Putin's actions.

The President also expressed hope that Trump would help end the war.

'Trump can do this. We need to agree with him on specific security guarantees for Ukraine, so that he can force Putin to engage in diplomacy and end this war. He is capable of this. We need to have real security guarantees... To provide Ukraine with the ability to defend itself and others in the event of Putin's aggression.'
