Zelensky evaluated the importance of the Kursk operation.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, explained why the Kursk operation was conducted. According to him, this operation was necessary to secure Ukrainian cities from being occupied by Russia.
This was a preventive step to prevent the Russians from capturing Sumy, the North, Kharkiv, and the East. The operation took place in this region, and its goal was to stop the occupation of our cities. Our brigades managed to make successful steps. Everything went well, the president said.
According to Zelensky, the Ukrainian leadership understood that Russian President Vladimir Putin would again try to seize Ukrainian territory.
He intended to break through and capture at least 2 regions, each with over a million people living in them, noted Zelensky.
The president also noted that thanks to the Kursk operation, Russia was forced to redeploy large forces due to the resistance of the Ukrainian military.
The detailed results of the operation will be known later, after the end of the war and the analysis of military, political, and military-political steps, Zelensky added.
Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to advance in Kursk, while the occupiers are approaching the Donetsk region.
