The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the information that Ukraine plans to buy weapons from the US for a hundred billion dollars. He also named the types of weapons that the Armed Forces of Ukraine want to receive from the Americans.
According to the president, the possibility of purchasing a package of military equipment of American production is being considered. This package includes aircraft, air defense systems, and more. 'This is a package of American weapons that we do not have, worth 90 billion dollars,' Zelensky said.
The Financial Times also noted that before the meeting at the White House, journalists had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a document that mentioned the desire to purchase Patriot air defense systems to protect cities and critical infrastructure.
The funding for this agreement is planned to be obtained from Europe, but Zelensky did not specify this information himself. In addition, the Chancellor of Germany expressed his position regarding the territories of Donbas, emphasizing that handing them over to Russian occupiers is unacceptable.
The President of France threatened to impose sanctions against Putin if he refuses the peace process or tries to sabotage it.
