Restrictions on Air and Sea Traffic in Finland

According to Espreso.tv: Early this morning, Finland imposed restrictions on both air and sea traffic over the city of Kotka due to a threat that dissipated around 9:18 AM. The maritime restrictions had been put in place several hours before those affecting aviation. All measures were lifted by the specified time, highlighting the swift response of local authorities.

Attack on Russian Targets

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that on July 4, an attack was carried out against targets in Russia. Ukrainian defense forces struck the 'Saint Petersburg' oil terminal and the 'Kronstadt' naval base. The terminal in Saint Petersburg is one of the largest oil product transshipment complexes in the Baltic, while Kronstadt is responsible for housing and repairing ships of Russia's Baltic Fleet.

The governor of the Leningrad region reported that 67 drones were shot down in the area, with debris falling near the port of 'Vysotsk'. Additionally, after the nighttime attack in Belgorod, electricity and water supplies were cut off, underscoring the severity of the situation there. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that

'the targets are located over 850 kilometers from the Ukrainian border'
, emphasizing the wide reach of the strikes.

These events highlight growing regional tensions and point to an escalation of military actions that could affect the security of neighboring countries. Finland's restrictions on air and sea traffic suggest a potential response to threats linked to military operations in Ukraine and Russia. The situation appears to require close monitoring by international organizations and governments to prevent further conflict escalation.
