Zelensky explained why Putin needs to continue the war.


The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that last week the territory of Ukraine was subjected to widespread shelling by Russian forces. He called for strengthening air defense.
According to the head of state, over the week, Russian troops carried out about 1220 airstrikes, more than 850 drone strikes, and over 40 missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine. One Russian drone even attacked the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine continues to defend itself thanks to the courage of its military and the support of partners, but the country needs more air defense systems to protect the civilian population.
The President also stressed the need to strengthen a unified foreign policy and pressure on Russian President Putin. According to him, Russia needs war to maintain power in its current state.
Zelensky expressed confidence that Ukraine, together with Europe, the USA, and other partners, can end this war with a just and reliable peace.
