Zelensky clarified his idea about 'rare earths'

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explained his idea regarding 'rare earths'. In an interview with The Guardian, he stated that Ukraine must protect its territories from the Russians not only for security reasons but also to protect the country's financial interests. According to him, if this is not done, Russia will gain access to valuable natural resources, such as 'rare earths', for free.

'What Putin is seizing our territories and receiving valuable natural resources for free is detrimental to us. They ruin the opportunities for extraction and processing, destroy factories, and flood mines. This is an environmental disaster and, importantly, a loss of property for the Ukrainian people,' Zelensky said.

The president also emphasized that Ukraine needs protection, as there are significant reserves of valuable metals and rare earth metals in the central part of the country, such as titanium, uranium, manganese, etc.

'In our state, we extract oil and gas, but we also have a shelf in the Black Sea, which is currently under occupation. This is significant money, and we must protect our resources,' Zelensky stressed.

Zelensky also noted that protecting Ukraine's resources would create opportunities for other countries to invest, develop, extract, and process these resources. He believes this will benefit both Ukraine and American companies.

'We are considering opportunities in the business plan to show that we have these resources. For example, we are leaders in Europe in uranium and titanium. We must protect these resources so that they do not fall for free into the hands of Russians or their allies, such as Iran or North Korea. We are not ready to gift them,' the president added.

Let us remind you that Zelensky announced the start of important peace talks.
