Ukraine and Russia Conducted a Prisoner Exchange.
Ukraine and the Russian Federation have carried out another prisoner exchange, as reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Today, the first severely wounded and injured soldiers have been released from Russian captivity. This is an important humanitarian step, as all the freed individuals need immediate medical assistance, emphasized the president.
Among those released are soldiers from the Navy, the Ground Forces, the Air Assault Forces, and others. 'Exchanges must continue. We are doing everything we can to find and return everyone who is in captivity. I am grateful to everyone who helps,' Zelensky emphasized.
The prisoner exchanges began on June 9 and will take place over several days. Ukraine hopes that all conditions for the exchange will be fulfilled according to the agreements reached during negotiations in Istanbul. One of the released Ukrainian hostages, who had been in captivity for over three years, showed signs of torture on his body.
Ukraine and the Russian Federation continue to exchange prisoners, releasing wounded and severely wounded soldiers. This humanitarian step is crucial for resolving the conflict and restoring peace in eastern Ukraine.
