Zelensky awarded the title of Hero City to 16 cities: full list.
According to inkorr.com: President Volodymyr Zelensky granted the honorary status of 'Hero City of Ukraine' to 16 Ukrainian settlements on the occasion of Defender's Day and the Feast of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. This decision expands the list of cities recognized for their outstanding contributions to the fight against Russian aggression. The President emphasized that this holiday is a wonderful opportunity to honor the communities and individuals who have taken on the greatest responsibility for the defense of the state.
'Today, on this Defender's Day, on the Feast of the Protection, we celebrate more hero cities - cities of heroes. I signed a decree. Cities that have saved thousands of lives of our people. Cities that are defending our entire state - in the full sense of these words,' noted Volodymyr Zelensky.
Hero Cities in Different Regions of Ukraine
In Dnipro region, the title was awarded to Pavlohrad, Nikopol, and Marhanets. In Donetsk region, five cities received the honorary title: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Sloviansk. In Zaporizhzhia, the title was awarded to Huliaipole and Orikhiv, while in Mykolaiv region - Voznesensk and Bashtanka. In Sumy region, Sumy and Trostianets were honored with this award.
Moreover, the status of 'Hero City' was awarded to Kupiansk in Kharkiv region and Starokostiantyniv in Khmelnytskyi region.

Zelensky noted that the strength of every citizen is the foundation of the state's durability, and heroism begins with courage in every heart. Addressing the defenders, he emphasized that the existence of Ukraine is the result of persistent struggle and the bravery of its people.
