Zelenskyy Honors National Guard Members on Their Professional Holiday

According to Novyny.live: On March 26, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy extended his congratulations to the servicemen and women of the National Guard of Ukraine, emphasizing their critical role in the country's defense. He highlighted that National Guard personnel are carrying out missions in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, demonstrating courage and professionalism under challenging circumstances. The National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) has been in existence for 12 years.

As part of their duties, the NGU's First Corps operates along the Pokrovsk-Ocheretyne axis in Donetsk Oblast, while the Second Corps is active in Kharkiv Oblast. The units currently engaged in these operations include:

  • 3rd National Guard Brigade
  • 18th Sloviansk Brigade
  • Lasar's Group
  • 'Kryla Omegy' (Wings of Omega)
  • 'Taifun' (Typhoon)
  • Omega Special Operations Center
'Anyone who hears about 'Azov' and 'Khartiya' knows these are units that carry out combat missions with honor.' Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The president also expressed his gratitude to the troops: 'We are proud of every single person who fights for Ukraine and defends the country in the ranks of the National Guard. I congratulate you on your day. Thank you for your strength. Glory to Ukraine!'

This event followed the previous day's celebration—the Day of the Security Service of Ukraine, observed on March 25. In his address, Zelenskyy reiterated the significance of the National Guard in protecting the nation and executing tasks in harsh conditions, stressing that their bravery and dedication deserve respect and support.

By honoring the National Guard, President Zelenskyy not only underscores their role in ensuring national security but also affirms the broader importance of Ukraine's security forces amid modern challenges. This holiday reflects both the military and social value of National Guard members, who contribute to defending the country's territorial integrity. Such occasions help boost troop morale and strengthen the bond between the state and its defenders.
