According to UATV: In his January 28, 2023 address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the critical energy situation in Ukraine and delivered a direct message to the Russian people regarding the war's inevitable conclusion. He emphasized that Russia's population must prepare for the end of the conflict. The President also reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is providing hot meals to residents of Kyiv and the surrounding region suffering from the war's effects.

As of January 28, 2023, marking 1,435 days since Russia's full-scale invasion, the following aid was delivered in the past 24 hours:

  • 6,200 people received hot meals in Kyiv;
  • 22,000 people – in the Kyiv region.

Zelenskyy highlighted that teams from across Ukraine are mobilized to provide this support in the capital.

“For Kyiv, we have engaged teams from many of our regions, essentially from all over the country,” he stated.

Furthermore, the President detailed problems with energy infrastructure, noting that over 200 apartment buildings in Kryvyi Rih were left without heating following a Russian strike. Zelenskyy expressed readiness to scale up assistance if needed:

“We are prepared to increase the scale of such aid if necessary,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He also warned that 'we are aware that the Russians are preparing for a new strike,' underscoring the importance of Ukraine's readiness for potential new challenges.

The President expressed gratitude to all those doing everything possible to save lives, stating: 'Thank you to everyone who is now doing everything possible and impossible to save as many people as possible.' The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with state and societal efforts focused on providing support and aid to citizens.
