Zelenskyy on US Request for Shahed Drone Help: Ukraine Holds Key 'Cards'.
Zelenskyy Addresses US Call for Aid Against Iranian Drones
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded to a US request for assistance in countering Iranian-made Shahed drones. He stated that Ukraine possesses certain 'cards' that showcase its military capabilities. This exchange follows a formal request from the United States on March 5, 2023, for support in combating these unmanned aerial vehicles. The request highlights how Ukraine's battlefield experience has made it a source of valuable expertise for its allies.
'Ukraine has its 'cards'—and this is the result of the work of our military, our industry, and our specialists,' President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
In response to the request, the first group of Ukrainian experts departed for the Middle East on March 8, 2023, to provide training to Gulf states. This demonstrates Ukraine's active role in international military affairs and its willingness to share its hard-earned knowledge in air defense.
Furthering this cooperation, on March 9, 2023, Ukraine dispatched drone warfare specialists to help protect American bases in Jordan. These steps underscore the growing importance of Ukraine-US collaboration in addressing emerging threats posed by unmanned aerial systems.
Consequently, Ukraine is demonstrating its readiness to take an active part in international security, particularly in the context of new global-level threats. This situation highlights the strengthening of military ties between Ukraine and the United States and the critical need for collective efforts to counter technological threats like drones. Such cooperation could prove vital for ensuring regional stability and security while adapting to an evolving military landscape.
