Zelensky reported on social media that during the meeting with Merz, they discussed the enhancement of Ukraine's air defense and agreed on steps ahead of the planned coalition meeting in London.

Support from Germany and Poland

“I informed about the consequences of Russian strikes in the energy sector, about the work on restoration, and about the necessity of ensuring energy supply for our cities and communities. We rely on Germany's leadership in supporting our energy sector – both in supplying equipment and in financing”
– noted the president.

Additionally, the participants of the meeting discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defense. Zelensky thanked Germany for its significant contribution to the protection of Ukrainians and expressed readiness for further cooperation. They also talked about the possibility of using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

Cooperation with Poland and the EU

At the meeting of the European Council, the president met with the Prime Minister of Poland. He talked about the increase in Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities and emphasized the necessity of enhancing air defense. Military support and joint defense projects became important aspects of the negotiations.

Zelensky stressed that additional protection of Ukrainian skies is crucial for the safety of the entire European airspace. He also expressed Ukraine's interest in attracting investments from Polish companies into the defense industrial complex.

Within the negotiations, the EU SAFE credit mechanism for joint production in the defense sector, which should be beneficial for all participants, was discussed.
