Zelensky held a phone conversation with Biden: discussed a new defense package and the Victory Plan.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a phone call to US President Joseph Biden during which they discussed important issues of support for Ukraine and further cooperation between the countries.
In his social media message, Zelensky expressed his gratitude for "the unwavering support of Ukraine since the beginning of Russian aggression." He emphasized the importance of President Biden's leadership and US support in defending Ukraine's independence.
"President Biden's leadership in uniting the world and America's strong support have been decisive factors that helped Ukraine withstand and protect our independence," the Ukrainian leader noted.
Zelensky also thanked for the new defense package worth $425 million, which includes air defense systems and long-range weapons. He also suggested considering the possibility of joint weapons production and discussed the importance of additional training for Ukrainian military personnel.
During the conversation, attention was paid to the upcoming online meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format. The President of Ukraine informed Biden about his address to the Ukrainian parliament, where the Victory Plan received the support of all parliamentary parties and groups.
Zelensky also informed about his plans to present this plan to EU partners at a Council of Europe meeting. He thanked the USA for their willingness to help Ukraine strengthen positions for forced diplomacy towards Russia and emphasized the continuation of work on implementing the Peace Formula.
