President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that within the next five years Ukraine may become a member of the European Union while the new composition of the European Commission will be working.

He wrote this on his Twitter, welcoming the approval of the new composition of the European Commission, which will be led by Ursula von der Leyen.

Zelensky expressed his desire for success for the European Commission in strengthening the unity of Europe and increasing its role on the world stage. He also hopes for further cooperation on issues related to Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

The president is confident that Ukraine will achieve its strategic goal of becoming a member of the European Union if the new composition of the European Commission works effectively.

Recall that on November 27, the European Parliament voted for the new composition of the European Commission under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen. The new commission will start its work from December 1.

Earlier, Zelensky demanded to deprive Russia of excessive profits from oil.
