Zelensky in Brussels: The EU Will Pay in Blood If It Does Not Support Ukraine Financially.
According to ТСН: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, while in Brussels, expressed important thoughts regarding financial assistance to Ukraine.
"Without assistance, it will be difficult for Ukraine... The EU will pay in blood, not in money due to the aggression of the Russian Federation,"
he noted, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Zelensky also reported that most European leaders support the idea of a reparative loan, while others propose alternative options for financial support.
Blocked Assets and Their Use
It is known that about 300 billion euros of Russian assets are blocked in the European Union, of which more than 140 billion generate profit. These funds can be used to provide assistance to Ukraine, while adhering to international standards.
Upcoming EU Summit
On December 18-19, a summit of EU leaders will take place in Brussels, during which financial support for Ukraine for 2026-2027 is planned to be discussed. If an agreement is not reached, the EU will consider an alternative option - a "Plan B," which involves temporary credit from the bloc's borrowings.
Thus, financial support for Ukraine remains at the forefront of European leaders' attention, and the possibility of using blocked Russian assets opens new avenues for assistance. The EU summit will be an important milestone in this work, as its results will determine not only the future of Ukraine but also stability in Europe as a whole.
