Zelensky said how much Putin 'bought' Fico: intelligence services should take action.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke about the details of the secret cooperation between Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Russia.
At a meeting of European leaders in Brussels, it was revealed that the annual volume of gas operations between Slovakia and Russia amounts to 500 million US dollars. There is also a pipeline that brings in an additional half a billion dollars and runs through the territory of Ukraine.
After the meeting between Fico and Putin in Moscow, the leaders refrained from joint statements and communication with the press
Zelensky believes this indicates that they fear public reaction to what they discussed.
Zelensky noted that the discounts provided by Russia to Slovakia have a hidden cost, which is paid either by the sovereignty of the state or through illegal mechanisms. He believes that such cooperation will attract the attention of law enforcement and intelligence services of Slovakia.
Zelensky is particularly concerned that the Slovak Prime Minister refuses to participate in joint European efforts to achieve energy independence. Instead, he directs his actions towards displacing American gas and resources from other European partners, which effectively promotes the financing of Russian military aggression and undermines European unity.
Zelensky also noted that Fico refused compensations that facilitate the transition to energy independence, which indicates his interest in relations with Russia.
The President called to examine the reasons for Fico's loyalty to Moscow's interests and the sources of funding for this cooperation.
Recall that Fico accused Zelensky of attempted bribery.
