Zelensky: The more pressure there is on Russia, the closer a just peace will be.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation after the 896th day of the war. Within his speech, he focused on three main issues.
First of all, Zelensky expressed his gratitude to all Ukrainian soldiers for their bravery and dedication to Ukraine. He especially noted the combat units in the Pokrovske, Toretsk, Lyman directions, and in Kharkiv region. The President emphasized the importance of continuing the effective destruction of the enemy, noting that increasing pressure on Russia as an aggressor will bring a just peace closer.
Secondly, Zelensky reported on his conversation with Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi regarding future actions and steps of the Ukrainian army. Details of these conversations will be disclosed later. He also held a meeting with Defense Minister Umerov regarding the practical implementation of Ukraine's missile program.
Thirdly, the president spoke about important meetings with officials. The launch of a new project "Army Plus", which aims to simplify everyday tasks for commanders of Ukraine's defense forces, was discussed. Additionally, new directions of social support aimed at business development, job creation, and family support were discussed.
Zelensky stressed that already now, while defending the state, the future life in Ukraine after the war is being determined. He emphasized the importance of ensuring maximum protection and safety for citizens, as well as creating as many opportunities as possible for living and working in Ukraine.
