New Long-Range Strike Command Created

According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree establishing the Long-Range (Global) Strike Command and the Joint Rapid Response Forces within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The primary goal of this new military entity is to enhance the effectiveness of long-range fire strikes, reduce the enemy's ability to wage war against Ukraine, and undermine its military potential, as stated by Zelenskyy.

Commander of the Joint Rapid Response Forces

Brigadier General Dmytro Voloshyn has been appointed as the commander of the Joint Rapid Response Forces. Voloshyn, a 2024 Hero of Ukraine, has been awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, III degree (2014) and II degree (2022). He has served in elite units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Assault Forces and took command of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade in 2024. The brigadier general was actively involved in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine.

Following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, the 82nd Brigade under Voloshyn's leadership successfully conducted an operation near Vovchansk in May 2024. Since August 2024, units of the 82nd Brigade have been engaged in combat operations in Russia's Kursk region.

“The commander in this direction will be strong and certainly as experienced as possible” — Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The creation of this new command reflects Ukraine's effort to adapt to modern security challenges and ensure the necessary conditions for effective military operations. This step underscores the Ukrainian leadership's growing focus on modernizing its armed forces and strengthening defense capabilities amid ongoing Russian aggression. The development of new strategic units could play a key role in improving military coordination and increasing response efficiency to threats.

With this new command, Ukraine aims to enhance its ability to wage modern warfare, a critical necessity given the current military challenges.
