President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting in Kyiv with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The topics of conversation were defense support, energy security, and the prospects of Ukraine's accession to the EU.
During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of protecting and restoring the energy infrastructure ahead of the winter period.
Ukraine must have a sufficient level of energy capacity and energy reserves to meet its needs
Ursula von der Leyen presented a plan to support Ukrainian energy, which plans to restore energy capacities by 2.5 GW and supply 2 GW of electricity to Ukraine. According to her, this will cover about 25% of Ukraine's energy needs in winter.
Ursula von der Leyen also reported on the proposal to allocate Ukraine a loan of 35 billion euros from the "Group of Seven" aid package, which will be aimed at supporting the country's macro-financial stability.

Zelensky also emphasized the necessity of fully utilizing frozen Russian assets for the protection of Ukraine and enhanced sanctions against the aggressor. He also discussed with the President of the European Commission the acceleration of the process of Ukraine's EU accession and the preparation for the second Peace Summit.
Victory Plan
President Zelensky said that the "victory plan" should start operating in the coming months and will be aimed at addressing Ukraine's main problems.
