A discussion on reliable security guarantees for Ukraine took place on the FREEDOM channel program, which are being discussed ahead of the country's president Volodymyr Zelensky's communication with the Russian leader Putin. Doctor of Political Sciences Igor Petrenko believes that the guarantees must be agreed upon by both sides and should focus on strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. This involves the possible deployment of foreign troops in the country, but the Russian side only supports a peacekeeping mission rather than a military contingent. A key role in this regard is played by the President of the United States, who needs to be convinced of the necessity of ensuring Ukraine's security. Therefore, it is planned that after the meeting between Zelensky and Putin, a final concept of security guarantees for Ukraine will be formed, which may include various options for military presence in the country, but there is a need to convince Russia of the importance of this step.
