Zelensky and Trump Held a Key Conversation: What the Leaders Agreed Upon.
According to inkorr.com: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the United States Donald Trump held talks in which they discussed ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and protect Ukrainian airspace. This conversation took place on September 4, 2025, after a meeting of European leaders in Paris.
Discussion on Peace Issues
The conversation also involved the leaders of European countries and representatives of international organizations. Zelensky emphasized the importance of economic pressure as a tool to achieve peace, noting that increasing pressure on Russia could help end the conflict. French President Emmanuel Macron added that if Russia refuses to engage in peace talks, new sanctions may be imposed.
'We discussed various options, and the key point is pressure, to force an end to the war with strong measures, including economic ones. The key to peace is to deprive the Russian war machine of money, to cut off resources,' Zelensky emphasized.
'As long as there is no peace, Ukrainians should not live under the threat of Russian attacks. Russian missiles and drones must not take lives,' Zelensky noted.
Continuation of Dialogue
If the peace negotiations do not yield results, the parties agreed to continue contacts within this initiative aimed at ensuring peace and security in Ukraine. During the phone call, Zelensky and Trump also raised important aspects of resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, which allows for focusing efforts on achieving the long-awaited peace in the region.
These negotiations underscore the importance of international support for Ukraine amid a prolonged conflict. Involving global leaders in dialogue demonstrates solidarity with the Ukrainian people while also highlighting the need to intensify efforts for a peaceful resolution of the situation.
