Zelenskyy in Vilnius: Ukraine Will Not Cede Any Land to Russia.
Zelenskyy's Statement in Vilnius
According to UATV: During a press conference in Vilnius on January 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that Ukraine will not surrender any of its territory to Russia. This firm stance was delivered alongside the Presidents of Lithuania and Poland, highlighting the critical backing Ukraine receives from its European partners in defending its territorial integrity. This meeting in a Baltic capital underscores the regional solidarity against Russian expansionism.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's position on its sovereignty and borders is unwavering and must be respected.
“Everyone knows our position on our territory and the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which must be respected. We are fighting for our state, for what is ours. We are not fighting on the territory of another country, so what questions could there be for us?” the Ukrainian President stated.
Appeal for International Support
Furthermore, Zelenskyy called on European allies to deepen cooperation in security, energy, and air defense, stressing the importance of international support in these key areas. This appeal comes amid reports that the United States is seeking a potential compromise to end the ongoing conflict. The war, now approaching its second year, has created significant global economic and security pressures.
President Zelenskyy's statement, which firmly rejects any territorial concessions, underscores Ukraine's resilience in the face of prolonged Russian aggression. The support from Lithuania and Poland, nations with shared interests in regional security, demonstrates the importance of international unity against external threats. Zelenskyy's call for enhanced security and energy cooperation also reflects Ukraine's strategic priorities as it navigates these global challenges.
