Zelensky is losing support among Ukrainians, — The Times.
Zelensky is losing the trust of the population
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is experiencing a sharp decline in trust among the population that has been ongoing for the past few months.
Journalists from The Times point out that trust in the military leadership, particularly in Valeriy Zaluzhny, remains at a high level despite his dismissal in February due to conflicts with the president regarding the conduct of the war.
Despite Zaluzhny not expressing any political ambitions, experts believe that his appointment to a position in London is an attempt by Zelensky to diminish his influence in Ukraine.
Olexandra Ustinova, a member of parliament, noted that the dire situation in the country due to the prolonged war presents serious challenges for the president: 'People are tired, and almost everyone has lost a loved one.'
There are also concerns that adhering to the recommendations of the US regarding the mobilization of youth from the age of 18 could lead to an even greater decline in Zelensky's popularity.
According to KMIS data, in September-October 2024, 59% of Ukrainians trust the president, while 37% do not. After a sharp increase in trust at the beginning of the war, this figure has significantly decreased: by February 2024 it dropped to 64%, and by May 2024 it is down to 59%.
