Zelenskyy called for accountability for Russia's war crimes.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at the "United for Justice" conference and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in holding Russian war criminals accountable.
In his speech, Zelenskyy noted that justice should be universal for all nations. He cited statistics on 137,000 war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine and stressed that all perpetrators must be held accountable.
The President drew attention to violations of international law and the enforcement of the arrest warrant for Putin issued by the International Criminal Court. He also expressed concern about Putin's possible participation in the G20 summit in Brazil, which is being discussed, and noted that this would be ignoring the international statute.
Zelenskyy called for joint efforts on the path to achieving justice. "The norms of laws are effective when people act - act to defend the law, to enforce the law, and to uphold the law. This is the essence of our cooperation, this is why we are united for justice," he emphasized.
