According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered Ihor Klymenko the position of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC). Zelenskyy shared this development on his Telegram channel, confirming that a decree formalizing Klymenko’s appointment to this pivotal national security role is being prepared. This move comes amid Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its defense coordination.
Klymenko previously served as the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he gained critical experience for his new responsibilities. During a meeting with Klymenko, President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for his work within the ministry’s system.
“The key priority is maximizing effective coordination among all components of the security and defense sector, along with daily oversight of decision implementation,” Zelenskyy stated.
