Ukraine’s President Holds Talks with Iran’s Crown Prince: Key Topics on War and Governance.
Ukrainian President Meets Iran’s Crown Prince
According to Novyny.live: On March 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Iran’s Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. The main focus of their discussions was the situation in the Middle East, including public sentiment inside Iran and the current state of the country’s leadership. This dialogue comes amid heightened tensions following recent U.S. and Israeli operations against Iran.
During the meeting, Prince Pahlavi proposed arranging direct personal talks with the Ukrainian leader. Zelenskyy noted that the prince’s team had briefed him on signals they are receiving from inside Iran.
“The power structure has indeed already suffered significant losses, and it is crucial that the Iranian regime gains nothing and that the people of Iran receive greater protection for their lives and more opportunities to determine their own future. We discussed how international pressure and joint efforts can help achieve this,” Zelenskyy stated.
The Importance of a Free Iran
The Ukrainian president also stressed the importance of a free Iran that would not cooperate with Russia or destabilize the Middle East, Europe, or the wider world.
“Ukraine truly wants to see a free Iran that will not collaborate with Russia and will not destabilize the Middle East region, Europe, or the world,” he emphasized.
The Middle East situation escalated after the U.S. and Israel launched an operation against Iran in February. Known developments include:
- The elimination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei;
- Iranian attacks on neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Kuwait;
- An FBI warning about a possible Iranian drone attack in retaliation for American strikes.
Zelenskyy also thanked Pahlavi for clear assurances of support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This meeting underscores the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and Iran amid ongoing international challenges and threats.
In light of the intensifying Middle East conflict, these negotiations between Ukraine and Iran carry special significance. Iran’s actions, including aggression against neighboring states, could have serious consequences not only for the region but for global security as a whole. Collaboration between Kyiv and Tehran may become a key factor in countering these threats and promoting regional stability.
