At the World Economic Forum in Davos, it is planned to discuss a new potential pandemic of the unknown "Disease X".

The World Health Organization has warned that the number of victims could be 20 times higher than with the coronavirus. This was reported by UNIAN.

It is planned to discuss new efforts needed to prepare health systems for multiple future challenges, according to the forum's program.

The speakers will be WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Head of the Health and Healthcare Shyam Bishen, Brazil's Minister of Health Nísia Trindade Lima, as well as a representative from Royal Philips and the Chairman of the Board of AstraZeneca Plc.

"Disease X" is a hypothetical name for an unknown pathogen capable of causing an epidemic or pandemic.

In 2018, WHO included "Disease X" in the global list of diseases and pathogens that are a priority for research and development in the context of health emergencies.

Revocation of Covid-19 pandemic status and booster vaccinations
