According to the regional administration data, 22 residents of Donetsk region moved to Rivne, almost half of whom are pensioners, and six people have disabilities. Three pets also arrived with them.

Meeting the New Arrivals

On the platform, the newcomers were met by representatives of the authorities, social services, volunteers, rescuers, and medics. People were provided with food, first aid, and psychological support.

'Rivne region continues to receive evacuation trains. In August and September alone, almost one and a half hundred people arrived, all from populated areas of Donetsk region. Most of them are elderly or need additional care. Currently, over 500 additional places for displaced persons have been opened in communities and another 160 in healthcare facilities,' said the first deputy head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Serhii Podolin.

Status and Support for Displaced Persons

All newcomers receive the status of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and are provided with housing, social support, and guaranteed payments from the government.

Displaced persons receive support through 32 Resilience Centers operating in the region's communities. Here they can receive psychological adaptation, social worker consultations, employment assistance, and connections with government authorities.

It should be noted that Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko that internally displaced persons with combatant status and those who have received disabilities due to the war may take advantage of a support program for purchasing housing. The amount of financial assistance may be up to 2 million hryvnias for one person or the entire family.

The displaced persons from the East arriving in Rivne region receive not only shelter but also social support and assistance in integrating into the new environment. The local authorities are actively working to provide the necessary conditions for the comfortable living of new residents, especially through the establishment of Resilience Centers and support in the form of financial payments. These actions help to adapt and ease the difficult path of the displaced persons who left their homes in search of safety and stability in Ukraine.
