A resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region decided to forge a birth certificate for her third child so that her husband could obtain a deferment from mobilization.
The court found that the woman used Photoshop to add information about the third child to the birth certificate, which actually does not exist. After that, she forged a form of a multi-child parent certificate, added photographs of herself and her husband, and applied for a deferment.
Court decision
The woman was fined 8,500 hryvnias, but she has the opportunity to appeal within 30 days. It is worth noting that in another case, a student from Kharkiv, who helped a friend obtain a deferment, had to undergo a probationary period.
Interestingly, a resident of Odesa region, after receiving a summons but failing to appear at the military registration office, received a suspended sentence of three years in prison.
Submitting fake documents to obtain a deferment from military conscription can have serious consequences, as this story shows. The woman was fined, while others even had to serve prison time for evading military duty.Read also
