A resident of Odesa damaged the railway on the instructions of the Russians.
A Russian intelligence agent was detained in Odesa for setting fire to the relay cabinet on the railway
In the city of Odesa, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a woman who worked for Russian intelligence and set fire to a relay cabinet. She was also preparing for new destructive acts. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.
According to law enforcement agencies, the detainee is a 32-year-old woman who was recruited by Russian agents at the end of 2024. Following their instructions, she provoked a fire in the relay cabinet and transformer substation on one of the railway lines.
Later, she was instructed to organize the storage of components for homemade explosives near the port. She traveled to the city of Dnipro, where she received these components which were hidden in a cigarette pack.
Upon returning to Odesa, the agent attempted to place the components in a predetermined location near the port. However, she was detained by SBU counterintelligence and part of the explosives was seized.
It also became known that she intended to illegal weaponry, but this plan was not implemented.
The detainee has been charged under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for treason committed in conditions of martial law. The question of additional qualification of actions under Article 113, which pertains to sabotage under martial law, is also being considered.
The suspect is currently in custody and may be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Earlier, the SBU detained two women who provided coordinates of Ukrainian military forces in the Donetsk region to the Russians.
Also, Russian actor Dmitry Pevtsov, who supported the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
