6 Cogeneration Units and 41 Million Hryvnias: Inside Zlatopil’s New Energy Project.
Zlatopil Receives Cogeneration Units
According to Espreso.tv: Anton Oryekhov, First Deputy Mayor of Zlatopil, announced during the Energy Security Talks hosted by DiXi Group that the city has acquired six cogeneration units along with project funding supported by GIZ. These units were delivered between late 2024 and early 2025, with total financing reaching 41.37 million UAH.
According to Oryekhov, planning for these cogeneration installations took over six months due to a complex approval process. The installation costs for all six units exceeded 30 million UAH. However, when the units arrived, the city lacked both the necessary design documentation and permits.
Funding and Support
In 2025, Zlatopil secured funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to move the project forward. This financial backing marked a critical step in strengthening the community’s essential services under a project supported by GIZ in partnership with the NGO 'GOULOK'.

Support from the EIB and GIZ underscores the role of international cooperation in advancing energy projects in Ukraine, especially amid global challenges. This initiative could serve as a model for other regions seeking alternative funding and technologies to upgrade their energy infrastructure.
