Harvest-2024: how much and which crops have already been harvested in Ukraine.
Ukrainian farmers have already harvested nearly 63.7 million tons of new crops of grain and oilseed crops from an area of 18.1 million hectares. The total harvest volume amounts to 45.1 million tons of grain and 18.6 million tons of oilseeds. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Collected:
- Wheat - 22.3 million tons;
- Barley - 5.5 million tons;
- Peas - 465.3 thousand tons;
- Corn - 15.4 million tons;
- Millet - 159.5 thousand tons;
- Buckwheat - 126.9 thousand tons;
- Sunflower - 9.5 million tons of seeds;
- Soybeans - 5.6 million tons of seeds;
- Rapeseed - 3.5 million tons of seeds.
It is reported that farmers from 15 regions continue to harvest sugar beets. They have already been dug from an area of 170.6 thousand hectares (which is 66%), with 8.3 million tons of sweet roots collected.
In addition, the Ministry noted that in terms of total grain collection, farmers from the Odessa region lead with 4.4 million tons, followed by Poltava with 4 million tons, and Vinnytsia with 3.3 million tons. In terms of yield, Khmelnytskyi is in first place (68.3 c/ha), followed by Bukovina (64.9 c/ha) and Chernihiv (63.5 c/ha).
Previously, it was reported that due to the record heat and drought in the summer of 2024, prices for vegetables, particularly potatoes, tomatoes, and other seasonal products, doubled compared to last year. The price increase is caused by crop loss, limited supply, and inflationary factors.
Let us remind you, it was previously reported that according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the country has already harvested 62.2 million tons of the new crop from an area of 16.8 million hectares.
Let us remind you, as reported by the Ministry of Economy's press service in Ukraine, a state compensation program for farmers for demining agricultural lands has been launched.
Let us remind you, earlier the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicted that this year's gross production of grain and oilseeds would amount to about 74 million tons, including about 52.4 million tons of grains and 21.7 million tons of oilseeds.
Incidentally, India's best monsoon season since 2020 recently ended, creating favorable conditions for a bountiful harvest of rice, soybeans, and legumes. This is reported by Bloomberg.
