No Azov soldier? The intelligence responded to Redis's loud statement about the unfair exchange.
The Deputy Head of the Coordination Staff responded to the statement about the non-return of the 'Azov' fighters
The Deputy Head of the Coordination Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War Andriy Yusov reacted to the statement of the commander of 'Azov' that no servicemen from the 12th Azov Brigade returned as part of the exchange of 1000 for 1000. He emphasized that this is an emotional topic that should not be publicly escalated.
'I will not comment on specific names and statements. But this is a very sensitive issue. It is necessary to take into account the presence of fighters there, to protect rights in captivity, and to ensure the fastest possible return to Ukraine,' the staff representative stressed.
Andriy Yusov specified that after leaving 'Azovstal', about 2500 Ukrainian defenders fell into captivity, of which 1279 were managed to be returned, including 455 fighters of the 'Azov' regiment. This allowed the release of servicemen from 46 units that had previously not returned captives, however, Yusov warned against excessive media attention to this topic as it could create additional risks for the captives.
Ukrainian soldiers continue to be freed from captivity, and it is important to avoid public escalation of sensitive issues regarding the exchange of prisoners of war to ensure the security and rapid return of Ukrainian fighters to their homeland.
