Kamianets-Podilskyi Zoo May Close: Five Lions at Risk of Destruction.
Threat of Destruction for Lions at the Zoo
According to The Sun: Kamo Wildlife Sanctuary in New Zealand has announced the threat of destruction for five more lions after two animals were already euthanized due to financial difficulties. The institution has issued a clear ultimatum: if the park is not sold soon, they will have to take similar measures regarding the other lions.
Zoo staff stated:Our financial problems are critical, and we cannot afford to keep the animals in such conditions.
This situation has raised concerns among animal rights activists and local residents who are calling for a quick solution to prevent tragedy for the animals.
Currently, the zoo is actively seeking new funding opportunities or a potential buyer to avoid further losses.
Problems with the preservation of animals in zoos are often linked to economic factors, so it is important to find a caring solution that ensures a safe environment for lions and other animals. The situation at Kamo Wildlife Sanctuary has become a vivid example of the need to support such institutions that are trying to preserve species in the face of modern challenges.
