Ukraine’s military targets Russian equipment and oil infrastructure, says ‘Achilles’ commander.
Why logistics and equipment destruction matter on the battlefield
According to UATV: Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the 429th separate brigade of unmanned systems ‘Achilles’, stressed that disrupting enemy logistics and destroying their hardware is essential for Ukrainian forces to operate effectively. Ukraine’s defense forces are actively striking enemy equipment, which, according to Fedorenko, significantly erodes the adversary’s combat capabilities.
‘If we destroy the equipment that brings drones or shells to the front line of contact, their guns essentially become scrap metal.’ Yuriy Fedorenko
This highlights that eliminating enemy hardware is a key factor in reducing their fighting potential. In addition, Ukrainian forces are also hitting facilities where petroleum products are stored. Fedorenko explained that ‘if we destroy the facilities holding oil products, the enemy cannot refuel their vehicles in sufficient quantities.’
Complicating the enemy’s supply lines
The importance of these actions lies in how they disrupt the opponent’s logistics, which in turn limits their ability to conduct combat operations. Yuriy Fedorenko further noted:
‘And if these production capacities are under fire from our drones and cruise missiles, the output of shells, drones, and missiles automatically drops.’ Yuriy Fedorenko
These remarks underscore the significance of destroying manufacturing facilities located on Russian territory.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy is losing momentum in their offensive, and in certain sectors of the front, the number of assaults is declining. For instance, the Oleksandrivka direction remains one of the hottest spots on the front line. These developments indicate that Ukrainian efforts to cripple enemy logistics and equipment are yielding results, making the adversary’s military operations more difficult and giving Ukraine opportunities for further advances.
Disrupting the enemy’s supply chains and destroying their hardware is a strategically vital aspect of modern warfare. It allows Ukrainian forces not only to reduce the opponent’s combat potential but also to strengthen their own defenses and prepare for possible counterattacks. The situation on the front suggests that Ukrainian troops continue to execute their plans effectively, which could pave the way for further progress in the conflict.
