Assault on the Voronezh Semiconductor Devices Factory

According to Espreso.tv: On June 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched a strike on the Voronezh Semiconductor Devices Factory, a critical node in Russia's military-industrial complex. The General Staff of the AFU confirmed the operation, stating that the facility produces electronics for Russian missiles, including those used in the 'Iskander' tactical missile system.

According to Russian monitoring channels, three Storm Shadow cruise missiles were intercepted in the Voronezh region during the attack. The governor of Voronezh Oblast confirmed that the strike damaged both the factory's production facilities and nearby apartment buildings.

Additional AFU Strikes on Military Assets

Furthermore, the General Staff of the AFU reported other attacks on military targets within Russia and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. These included:

  • the 'Dubna' space communications center in the Moscow region;
  • Russian command and observation posts near Ilek-Penkovka and Pokrovsk;
  • a road bridge in the Vasylivka area of the Zaporizhzhia region;
  • infrastructure at the 'Kavkaz' port in Krasnodar Krai on June 21.
The General Staff of the AFU stated: 'Today, June 22, units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a facility producing components for Russian missiles in Voronezh.'

These operations are part of a broader strategy aimed at crippling Russia's military production capabilities. By targeting key manufacturing plants, Ukraine seeks to weaken the logistical backbone of the Russian army, potentially reducing its ability to sustain operations in the region.

The strikes on critical enterprises within Russia's military-industrial complex highlight the AFU's increasing operational activity amid the ongoing conflict. Destroying production capacities that supply the Russian military with advanced technology could significantly impact Moscow's battlefield effectiveness. Such actions are typically part of a military strategy designed to degrade an adversary's strength and diminish its war-making resources.
