Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Pokrovsk from Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups: how the defense holds up.
The defense forces successfully cleared Pokrovsk in Donetsk region from Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups. The Ukrainian military continues to maintain control over the city.
Pokrovsk has been freed from Russian saboteurs
The Ukrainian military published a video from Pokrovsk, showing security measures being implemented.
According to the 7th Corps of the Donetsk Assault Army, together with other units, the city has been completely cleared of enemy groups and individual Russian soldiers.
In addition, Ukrainian military forces are now operating in the city, and local residents are gradually returning. However, the defenders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warn that movement within the city is restricted for safety reasons. Nevertheless, it is possible to enter the city in exceptional cases.
It is noted that according to the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadym Filashkin, more than 1,300 civilians remain in Pokrovsk.
Furthermore, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting during which the tense situation near Pokrovsk and Dobropillya was discussed.
The Ukrainian troops managed to completely clear the city of Pokrovsk from Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups, but the situation remains tense, and local residents are gradually returning under the protection of Ukrainian troops. The President held a meeting in this regard to discuss further actions in the region.
