Key Achievements by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces

According to UATV: Between July 1 and July 20, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed 183 vessels belonging to Russia's shadow fleet—a major milestone in naval warfare. Of these, 119 Russian ships were eliminated in the Sea of Azov and 64 in the Black Sea. In addition, Ukrainian drones damaged 103 energy facilities in occupied Crimea and 25 elements of Russia's air defense systems.

Next-Generation Missiles and Emerging Tech

To strengthen its defensive capabilities, Ukraine has unveiled two new missiles: the 'Flamingo' and the 'Long Neptune.' The Flamingo, weighing 6 tons, has an operational range of 3,000 km. According to The Atlantic,

“Launched from a truck platform, this missile flies roughly twice as far as its American counterpart, the Tomahawk, and carries a much larger warhead. Moreover, its production costs are about half as much.”

This highlights the significant potential of Ukraine's new missile systems in countering aggression.

Meanwhile, the Long Neptune cruise missile boasts a 1,000 km range and a 260 kg warhead. Drones such as the 'Magura' and Sea Baby can be operated from up to 1,000 km away and carry a 200 kg payload. Reports also indicate that Fire Point can produce 90 missiles per month, greatly enhancing Ukrainian forces' strike capacity.

Development of the new 'Freya' air defense system is ongoing, with the first test of the FP-7x missile scheduled for July 2027. Since the start of the year, Unmanned Systems Forces units have already eliminated over one million Russian military targets.

Commenting on drone effectiveness, Yuriy Fedorenko noted:

“Drones have introduced very harsh adjustments to the battlefield.”

Dmytro Levus emphasized that

“Russia must receive strikes it cannot defend against,”
