According to UATV: Over the past six weeks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have conducted a series of defensive and offensive actions, resulting in the liberation of approximately 400 to 435 square kilometers of territory in southern Ukraine. This significant gain, confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, represents a strategic setback for Russian forces in the region. Vladyslav Seleznev reported that Ukrainian defenders have regained control of 400 square kilometers on the Orikhiv axis. President Zelenskyy emphasized that these operations were specifically designed to disrupt Russian military plans, stating:

“In the south of our state over the last month and a half, the AFU conducted a number of important defensive operations and, in some areas, offensive ones. These actions were carried out solely to thwart the plans of the Russians. We believe they have been quite successful. Approximately 400-435 square kilometers have returned to Ukrainian control.”

These territorial gains coincide with substantial Russian personnel losses. Over the three winter months, Russian military casualties have reportedly exceeded 92,000 individuals.
