Trains to Kyiv have stopped for several hours: what happened on the railway.
According to ТСН: A train running between Przemyśl and Kyiv has been stopped near Fastiv for about five hours due to a lack of electricity. Passengers reported this on social media, sharing photos and videos.
The Budapest – Kyiv train has also stopped. “We have been standing in the middle of a field for two hours, the lights went out, the conductor said that the train in front of us also stopped due to a lack of electricity, so we cannot proceed. It is starting to get cold in the compartment,” passengers write.
Situation from 'Ukrzaliznytsia'
Representatives of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' reported that due to the fall of the external line support of 110 kV on the contact network, one of the areas of Kyiv region remained without electricity, which caused delays for several trains. The Budapest – Kyiv train number 10/9 was delayed the most.
“However, the obstacle has already been removed, power has been restored, and trains are gradually resuming movement. For those trains that arrive in Kyiv during the curfew, bus transfers around the city have been arranged with the support of the Kyiv City State Administration,” said 'Ukrzaliznytsia' representatives.
Previously, meteorologists had already reported about regions where the situation would be most complicated due to bad weather.
In light of these events, it is important to note that the transport accident in Kyiv region has become another confirmation of the need to support the infrastructure of Ukraine's power grid. The electricity supply situation has affected not only trains but also many other aspects of citizens' lives. 'Ukrzaliznytsia' is working to address issues and ensure stable passenger transportation in the future.
