Journalist publishes evidence of male genitalia in Olympic winner.
French journalist Jaffar Ait Audi handed over to Reduxx evidence that Olympic boxing champion Iman Khelif is biologically male.
It is noted that in Iman's medical documents there is information indicating the presence of an XY chromosome and testicles in Khelif.
The report also states that pelvic MRI results showed the absence of a uterus and ovaries in the athlete, but confirmed the presence of a gonad (testes) in the inguinal canal and a micropenis resembling an enlarged clitoris.
A hormonal test showed that Khelif's testosterone level in the blood is at a typical male level.
It is specified that the data were taken from hospitals in Algeria and Paris. The medical report was prepared in June 2023.
Recall, Olympic boxing champion from Algeria Iman Khelif filed a lawsuit against the social network X.
Iman Khelif accused the platform of "acts of severe cyberstalking" following reports that spread that she was male or transgender. Among those mentioned are British writer J.K. Rowling, American businessman Elon Musk, and even former US President Donald Trump.
The complaint was filed with the Center for Combatting Online Hate at the Paris prosecutor's office. It is not specified which exact messages from X were subject to review. The lawyer stressed that not only famous people, but also those who published offensive posts not under their real names could be punished.
Khelif was embroiled in a gender scandal that flared up after the round of 16 match of the Olympic Games in Paris. The fight between Italian Angela Carini and the Algerian athlete ended 46 seconds after it began. Carini refused to continue the match and left the ring in tears.
Rowling, in turn, posted that she described the Algerian boxer as "a man who enjoyed the suffering of the woman he just hit on the head." In addition, the media and online commentators accused Khelif of transgender transition. Later, childhood photos of the athlete, provided by her father, emerged in the press. The man also released her birth certificate. The document states that Iman Khelif was born a woman on May 2, 1999.
In 2023, Khelif was suspended from participating in the world championship by a decision of the International Boxing Association (IBA) as the Algerian athlete "failed a gender test".
However, the IOC deprived the IBA, headed by Russian Umar Kremlev, of official status and did not rely on the information of the organization. As a result, Khelif passed the testosterone level check and was admitted to the Games.
