Musk demands reporting from federal employees

American billionaire Elon Musk insists on federal employees in the USA reporting on their work by February 24. Otherwise, he threatens to dismiss them. This is the demand Musk expressed in a message on his X page.

All federal government employees will receive a letter asking them to describe what they have been doing last week. If there is no response, it will be considered that the employee is dismissed, Musk reported.

The Trump administration had previously stated its intention to reduce the number of government employees, and Musk expressed support for this. Some agencies have already dismissed part of their staff, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, NOAA, and CDC.

Court officials have also received letters requesting reporting. However, the American Federation of Government Employees plans to contest the dismissals in court, accusing Musk and the Trump administration of humiliating federal workers.

Those employees who have already reported are referred to by Musk as potential candidates for promotion.

Musk's access to Pentagon systems

US Secretary of Defense Pete Gesser stated that Elon Musk will receive special access to Pentagon systems to combat improper spending and abuses. He will have access to all necessary systems with established guarantees and classification levels to identify excessive spending and optimize funding.

Musk's access to IRS data

The US Department of Government Efficiency is also planning to provide access to IRS data. This will cover financial information about non-profit organizations, businesses, and taxpayers. The IRS is considering concluding a memorandum of understanding with Musk that will ensure broad access to contact data and financial documents.
