Disruptions to Kharkiv's Commuter Rail Service

According to TSN.ua: Due to a power supply failure in the overhead contact network, several key commuter train routes in the Kharkiv region will not operate on March 11. Passengers on the affected lines are advised to use designated alternative services. These disruptions highlight the ongoing challenges to Ukraine's critical infrastructure, which remains a frequent target during the war.

List of Temporarily Canceled Trains

The following train services are temporarily suspended:

  • No. 6414 Lozova – Kharkiv-Pas.
  • No. 6506 Zlatopil – Kharkiv-Pas.
  • No. 6134 Merchyck – Kharkiv-Pas.
  • No. 6303 Kharkiv-Pas. – Merchyck
  • No. 6304 Merchyck – Lyubotyn
  • No. 6682 Vlasivka – Kharkiv-Pas.
  • No. 6678 Berestyn – Kharkiv-Pas.

To accommodate passengers, alternative train routes have been arranged. Specifically, train No. 6512 on the Lozova – Kharkiv-Pas. route will replace No. 6414, while train No. 6508 from Bilyayivka to Kharkiv will serve as an alternative for No. 6506.

Furthermore, train No. 6136 will be offered for the No. 6134 Merchyck – Kharkiv-Pas. route, and train No. 6307 will operate instead of No. 6303. For route No. 6304, train No. 6222 is the designated alternative, while trains No. 6684 and No. 6686 will provide service for the canceled No. 6682 and No. 6678, respectively. Passengers should consult the updated schedule for details on these alternative services.

This situation underscores the critical importance of a stable power supply for the functioning of essential transport infrastructure.

Disruptions to the electrical grid can impact not only railway transport but also other vital sectors like energy and utilities. Travelers are urged to monitor for further announcements, as additional schedule changes are possible depending on when full power supply is restored.
