Frontline Situation

According to UATV: Russian occupying forces maintained a high operational tempo, with 136 combat engagements recorded over the past day. The most intense fighting was concentrated in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kurakhove sectors. In other regions, the aggressor continued artillery and mortar strikes against Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. This sustained pressure reflects Russia's ongoing campaign to stretch Ukrainian defenses across a wide front.

From March 6, 2023, Russian forces conducted 3 airstrikes, releasing 9 aerial bombs. A total of 147 artillery and mortar attacks were logged, 12 of which utilized multiple launch rocket systems. The Kurakhove sector saw 19 assaults, while the Pokrovsk sector experienced 21. The most active front was Huliaipole, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 28 separate attacks.

Situation Analysis

Further attempts to advance were recorded, including 6 on the Sloviansk front and 1 on the Dnipro River front. These figures underscore the continued high tension along the contact line and the persistent offensive actions of Russian military units. The situation remains complex, with Ukrainian forces holding their defensive lines under constant pressure. The conflict, now in its second year, shows no signs of abating as Russia commits significant resources to these assaults.

The elevated intensity of combat points to a further escalation of the conflict and highlights the Ukrainian military's need to fortify defensive positions. Given the sustained attacks from multiple directions, the Ukrainian army will likely be compelled to take additional measures to protect its territory and civilian population. This ongoing reality also stresses the critical importance of sustained international support for Ukraine as it counters Russia's growing aggression.
