Sixteen Candidates Advance in Ukraine's Customs Chief Selection Process.
Second Stage Results Announced
According to Novyny.live: The second phase of the open competition to select the new Head of Ukraine's State Customs Service has concluded. Sixteen candidates successfully passed an anonymous legal knowledge test, with all participants scoring over 80 points, demonstrating a high level of preparation. This rigorous selection process is part of broader reforms within Ukraine's public institutions.
'All 16 candidates scored more than 80 points. Everyone prepared very well, the result is good' - Andrii Yerashov, a representative of the competition commission.
The next step for these candidates will be a special background check conducted by 10 separate state agencies. This is a critical part of the vetting process, as the results will determine who proceeds to the later stages. The applicants for the Customs Chief position must still pass five more rounds of selection, which include various tests and interviews.
The Final Selection
The final interview is scheduled for March, with the entire competition set to conclude by the end of that month. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will then choose the new Customs Chief from the two finalists who successfully navigate all stages. As Andrii Yerashov noted, 'The competition will be completed by the end of March.'
This open competition represents a significant step in reforming Ukraine's Customs Service and enhancing its operational effectiveness. The conclusion of the second stage highlights the active involvement of qualified professionals in the leadership selection, which is crucial for improving the agency's performance. The ongoing vetting and subsequent checks also underscore the state's commitment to greater transparency and higher standards in the field of customs control.
