17 NATO countries supported PURL: what Ukraine will receive under the program.
According to inkorr.com: Seventeen NATO member countries are launching the PURL program for Ukraine, which involves the supply of American weapons. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced this news following a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal that took place on October 15.
'Today we officially started, with six member countries, that declared their commitment to PURL. Initially six. So, these were the Netherlands and Germany, Canada, as well as Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. But as a result of today’s meeting, we have more than half of all member countries, that is over sixteen - seventeen member countries that have now declared commitment to PURL,' Rutte noted.
The PURL initiative, or Priority Requirements List of Ukraine, aims to procure weapons from the USA for our country. Under this program, Ukraine may receive regular weapon packages totaling about 500 million dollars. Our country is forming a list of the most necessary weapons for procurement through this initiative.
Thus, the PURL initiative has received support from 17 NATO member countries, opening new opportunities for Ukraine to receive important support and weapons to enhance its defense capabilities.
This program is an important step in Ukraine's cooperation with NATO and demonstrates the solidarity of allies in ensuring the security of the Ukrainian state. Regular arms supplies from allies can significantly strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities during dangerous times.
