North Korean soldiers desert near the Ukrainian border
18 soldiers from North Korea, who were involved in the Russian army, deserted from positions near the Ukrainian border in the Kursk region.
This was reported by "Suspilne", and also confirmed by a source in Ukrainian intelligence for hromadske.
According to intelligence, the incident occurred 7 km from the state border with Ukraine. The reasons for the escape of the North Korean soldiers are currently unknown. Russian military have begun search operations, trying to hide this situation from higher command.
A 'special Buryat battalion' is being formed
Earlier it was reported about the formation of the so-called "special Buryat battalion" at the base of the 11th separate air assault brigade of the Russian occupying army. This unit, according to "Suspilne", consists of citizens from North Korea and numbers about 3000 people. The battalion was provided with small arms and ammunition.
It was assumed that this unit could be involved in military operations near the settlement of Sudzha and the city of Kursk on the territory of the Russian Federation.
