The police detained the young man, who was informed of the suspicion of intentional damage to property by arson. The incident occurred in the evening when a 'Toyota' car belonging to a 59-year-old resident of Odesa caught fire.
Details of the Crime
According to information, the detainee rented accommodation in Odesa and agreed to set cars on fire for 1000 hryvnias. To carry out this criminal intent, the man purchased flammable liquid and recorded a video report of the arson. The detention took place less than half a day after the arson, indicating a quick response from law enforcement agencies.
The investigator informed the detainee of the suspicion under part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the legislation, the maximum penalty for such a crime can be up to 10 years of imprisonment. At present, the detainee is in custody, awaiting further procedural actions.
