A 51-Year-Old Military Woman Gave Birth to a Daughter at the Front: The Story of Natalia

Found Love at the Front and Became a Mother at 51

According to inkorr.com: Defender of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Natalia met her love at the front and, despite being 51 years old, gave birth to a daughter named Solomiya. This was reported by 'Glavkom' with reference to the National Rehabilitation Center Unbroken.

Previously, Natalia was an entrepreneur and had her own sewing production in Kryvyi Rih. However, after a shell hit the company, the woman, who was 48 years old at the time, decided not to restore the factory and went to mobilization. She served in the separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky, evacuating the wounded and providing medical assistance at the front.

“I think there is no need to be afraid. If I went to war knowing I could die, then I certainly wasn't afraid to get pregnant and give birth. It is a choice for every woman, but life is always worth fighting for,” – Natalia.

In March 2025, Natalia learned she would become a mother for the third time. She recalls: “Serhiy couldn't hold back his emotions – he cried out of happiness.” Natalia was transferred to another unit, where she continued her service until the 30th week of pregnancy.

“At 36 weeks of pregnancy, through cesarean section, the couple's child was born, a girl named Solomiya. She entered this world weighing 2500 grams and measuring 48 cm. Despite the mother's age, the baby received a high score of 8/9 on the Apgar scale, indicating her strong health. Natalia is now an example of how motherhood at an older age is possible and safe if you have a team of experienced doctors by your side. In the world, women successfully give birth to children even after 50 – modern medicine supports this,” – reported the National Rehabilitation Center Unbroken.

This story of Natalia is a vivid example of the strength and resilience of women in Ukraine, who, despite difficult circumstances, find happiness and fulfill their dream of becoming mothers. It shows that motherhood is possible at any age, and the support of modern medicine can help in this important stage of a woman's life. Speaking about this situation in the context of war, Natalia also demonstrates how important it is to maintain hope and love, even in the toughest times.
