Russians are trying to contact their relatives in the Kursk region through the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the authorities are indifferent to their citizens. Ukrainian soldiers search for missing people and at the same Time listen to their tragic stories. A 92-year-old resident of Sudzha, Valentina Glushkova, shared her story on the YouTube channel 'Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine' in the project 'Unnecessary to Putin'. She reached out to her relatives living in Kyiv.

My name is Valentina Mikhailovna Glushkova, and I will soon be 92 years old. I am still alive. I want to reach out to my relatives in Kyiv, if they can hear me. Especially to my son, Sasha, daughter-in-law Lymochka, and granddaughter Alisa in Riga. Igor and I are alive. Igor, of course, is very ill. I won't leave him, we'll stick together for now," the elderly woman told the Ukrainian military.

Valentina Mikhailovna also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not offend the residents of Sudzha. Soldiers treat people well, feed them, and share supplies.

So, we can say, we live fairly well. It's just a pity we're apart, not seeing each other. And will we ever see each other? If we don't, my dear son, Lymochka, Alisa, know how much we love you. Live long, be happy. And remember your grandmother and mother," the grandmother's address touched hearts.

Valentina Mikhailovna added that her son, Alexander Glushkov, is the author of many inventions, extensively covered by newspapers at one time.

Ukrainian and Russian troops advanced in Kursk region

According to ISW analysts, Ukrainian and Russian troops recently advanced on the primary Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region. Geolocated images published on October 25 indicate Ukrainian forces advanced west of Borok (southeast of Sudzha). Other geolocated footage from the same day suggests Russian troops have recaptured positions east of Obukhovka (southeast of Koryenevo).

Notably, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, refuted Putin's claim regarding the alleged encirclement of Ukraine's Defense Forces in the Kursk region.

As reported, the Kremlin has set new deadlines for its troops: by February 1, 2025, to regain full control over the Kursk region, as they did not meet the previous October 15 deadline. According to a source in the Defense Forces, by February 25, plans are in place to create a so-called buffer zone on the other side of the border – on Ukrainian territories. According to Moscow's previous plans, enemy forces were supposed to oust the Armed Forces of Ukraine from there by mid-October - they did not meet these deadlines, but some tactical successes have nonetheless been achieved there in recent weeks.
